Renault-Nissan and Bajaj Auto Ltd on track for new car

Renault-Nissan and Bajaj Auto Ltd say they have taken another step forward in their plans to develop a new vehicle with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

In November 2009, the carmakers announced their intention to work together to develop a new four-wheel product for the Indian and other emerging markets.

Now, the two partners have signed an MOU, following discussions to define the product, manufacturing plan and distribution agreements.   

As previously confirmed, the design, engineering, manufacturing and supply-base expertise for the new car will be provided by Bajaj with the support of Renault-Nissan, who will in turn lead the marketing and distribution.
