Renault is to offer over 2,000 people, including national and local authorities and opinion leaders, the chance to test two of its forthcoming electric vehicles at a Europe-wide tour taking place over the next seven months.

From now until end of February 2011, Renault's Kangoo Express ZE and Fluence ZE will embark on a roadshow visiting 16 countries, prior to going on sale in the middle of 2011.

The two models were first unveiled on 15 April this year and since then have been available for pre-orders via the website www.renault-ze.com. After registering online, visitors to the site are able to select their vehicle and thereby enjoy priority access to their choice when the two models go on sale.

Renault's Kangoo Express ZE and Fluence ZE are both derived from models powered by an internal combustion engine and will be joined in 2012 by two new, all-electric models which will have their own design based on the Twizy and Zoe concept cars. The four models will cover the small city car, compact hatchback, family saloon and LCV sectors thereby, according to Renault, covering the vast majority of motorists' needs.

Renault estimates that electric vehicles will account for 10% of the world market by 2020.
