Northgate rebrands to raise profile and boost business

Northgate has rebranded its entire network as Northgate Vehicle Hire following the creation of one national brand. The company has also said that it's looking to build the brand further and continue to offer services catered to the needs of SMEs as well as larger fleets.
The rental specialist has moved from a network of 20 local individual brands to the development of the Northgate Vehicle Hire national brand, which is now operating as 12 business areas with more than 60 sites, covering the UK and Ireland.
The rebranding of the business to Northgate Vehicle Hire has now been completed with new signage across more than 60 locations, new vehicle livery on thousands of vehicles and the development and launch of a new website with online booking facilities.
A large part of the 60,000-strong fleet of mainly light commercial vehicles will now carry the Northgate Vehicle Hire branding, making it the third largest liveried fleet in the UK after BT and Royal Mail. RoadSafe throws weight behind new risk management tool

RoadSafe is endorsing a new on-line risk assessment tool for fleet operators.
Launched by software company a2om, the a2om doc tool is said to help improve business efficiency and safety and is already in use by a number of leading companies.
The tool has also been evaluated by RoadSafe, which runs the government-backed Driving for Better Business campaign.
RoadSafe director, Adrian Walsh, said: 'The research behind this new business support software and its ease of use, as well as its graphic appeal, makes it a prime choice for use in a wide range of businesses, notably where company car drivers are busy or based away from a controlled office environment.'

Thrifty Car & Van Rental has been reappointed as the primary rental supplier to Thames Valley Police under a new four-year contract. The firm has also reported a rise in the number of organisations turning to flexible rental to meet vehicle requirements.
The contract was awarded following a tender process that included seven competitors. Thrifty was chosen for its professionalism and ability to provide a high standard of service and vehicles.
Ian Godolphin, head of Chiltern Transport Consortium from Thames Valley Police, said: 'We have appointed Thrifty Car & Van Rental as our primary supplier as the company fulfilled our stringent criteria. Being a police force, it is vital that any hire vehicles are well maintained and presented to uphold our image and ensure the safety of our staff and the public. Thrifty’s professional approach, the high standards of their vehicles and resilience to meet demand at short notice, were all factors in our decision.'
